Resonance

When the world fades low and shadows creep,

Your phantom lingers in the thoughts I keep.

Not a sharp pang of what's denied,

But a gentle echo deep inside.

A silent verse the heart could not compose,

A dance of souls that time would interpose.

No fiery grief, no burning pain,

Just soft remembrance, like the summer rain.

A fleeting touch, a story left untold,

A dream of futures, brave, bright and bold.

Just a soft image, tenderly shining by fading light,

In hues of gray and gold, blurred in sight.

No harsh lament for chances missed,

A melody unfinished, gently kissed.

A gentle presence, precious and so rare.

A whispered secret that the twilight share.

And so you stay, a whisper in the air,

A quiet solace, banishing despair.

No bitter tears for what's no more,

Just peace that settles, to the very core.
